To celebrate this year’s Sixth Annual Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival held April 17-19, Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, will feature special menu items created by Executive Chef Lance Fegen of Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar.
Fegen, co-owner of BRC Gastropub, Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar and Petite Sweets in Houston, says he lives “to immerse myself in food rich in culture inspired by big waves and blue water.” Fegen is an avid surfer and world traveler whose experiences often transcend into the food he designs.
In addition to the regular Galvez Brunch, the April 19 brunch menu will feature Fegen’s roasted suckling pig smoked with pimento wood and leaves, charred cabbage slaw, steamed rice, hot pepper vinegar sauce, fried plantains and stewed black beans.
Hotel Galvez’s Sunday brunch weekly offerings include an assortment of breads, fruits, cheeses, salads, various entrees, a carving station, fresh seafood, pasta bar, made-to-order omelets, custom waffle bar, and an awe-inspiring display of desserts as well as the choice of champagne, mimosas or wine. Sunday Brunch at Hotel Galvez is $39.99 for adults; $35.99 for seniors; $25.99 for children 6-11 and complimentary for children under 6.
As part of the weekend, Hotel Galvez & Spa is offering a Galveston Island Food & Wine package featuring complimentary valet, breakfast for two on Saturday, two tickets to Saturday’s Grand Tasting of the Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival and Sunday brunch for two at Hotel Galvez. For guests’ convenience, the hotel’s courtesy shuttle will transport festival goers to the Grand Tasting where wine enthusiasts can sample more than 100 wines and food from local restaurants. This ticket also includes souvenir wine glasses and an event program with a complete list of wines along with a new Craft Beer Bar and Wine Store.
