Picture goblins, ghosts and little princesses mixed with trick or treating, crafts, and ghost stories and you will have an idea of what’s planned for the Saengerfest Park Mini Monster Bash on Saturday, Oct. 27. All this Halloween fun will come alive in historic downtown Galveston at the second annual Saengerfest Park Mini Monster Bash from 1 to 4 p.m. at Saengerfest Park, 2302 Strand. The Mini Monster Bash, a family friendly Halloween carnival, offers a costume contest at 2 p.m., assorted games with prizes, cake walk benefitting a local children’s charity and trick or treating at various downtown businesses from 1 to 4 p.m.
Children, ages 11 and under, are invited to dress in their favorite costumes for prizes in the scariest, cutest and most creative categories. Prizes will be awarded for ages 0-2; 3-5; 6-8; and 9-11. Other activities include arts and crafts, face painting and other games. During the carnival, Haunted Mayfield Manor is offering a child-friendly haunted house, children’s ghost stories and discounted tickets to Haunted Mayfield Manor and Pirates! Legends of the Gulf Coast.
Saengerfest Park will be decorated to provide the ideal backdrop for Halloween photos. Saengerfest Mini Monster Bash is presented by Mitchell Historic Properties and Haunted Mayfield Manor.
