Shoppers can enjoy three new businesses that are opening this October in Galveston’s historic downtown. Head to Footsies, Santa Fe Trails, and Thomas Kinkade Gallery on The Strand are leasing newly renovated space from Mitchell Historic Properties.
 
Joyce Calver, owner of Head to Footsies, 2211 Strand, hosted a Grand Opening Celebration on Oct. 3. This boutique offers women’s clothing, shoes and accessories. Her boutique motto is “extra small to extra large – equally cherished” showing her commitment to carrying for ladies. Head to Footsies offers resort, casual and career separates as well as cocktail/evening dresses. This boutique carries many clothing lines including Eileen Fischer as well as shoe & accessories designs from around the world. Calver also plans to offer an online store.     
 
Santa Fe Trails reopened on Oct. 5. The shop returns to its long-time location at 2311 Strand where it has been in business for 15 years. Santa Fe Trails, locally owned and operated by the Yeatman family, specializes in Native American and Southwest jewelry and art.
 
Thomas Kinkade Gallery on The Strand, 2225 Strand, is scheduled to open in mid-October and will be one of the largest Thomas Kinkade galleries in the country. As a Signature Gold Gallery it is 100 percent dedicated to the works of Thomas Kinkade with access to all limited edition artwork. Thomas Kinkade is one of America’s most collected living artists.
