Hotel Galvez & Spa
Hotel Galvez is Galveston’s only historic beachfront hotel. This hotel, known as the “Queen of the Gulf,” opened on June 10, 1911. The hotel is owned by Mitchell Historic Properties and managed by Wyndham Hotel & Resorts, LLC. Hotel Galvez is a Wyndham Historic Hotel and National Trust Historic Hotel of America. The 224-room hotel includes seven distinctive suites, a 9,763 square-foot spa, full-service Bernardo’s Restaurant, bar, tropical pool with cabanas and unique offering of conference and banquet facilities all set in a beautifully restored historic hotel. All suites and sleeping rooms flaunt views of the Gulf of Mexico or the city.

The Galveston County Historical Museum today announced its collaboration with Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, to create a new historical exhibit in honor of hotel’s centennial celebration. The museum is looking for one-of-a-kind items related to Hotel Galvez to be donated to exhibit; donated items will become part of the permanent collection.

Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, today announced it now offers in-house transportation and excursion services to its guests through Galveston Charter Boats and sister company Galveston Shuttle Bus. Transportation and excursion staff is available at the hotel to assist guests with powerboat and sailboat rentals, fishing excursions and other water activities, as well as private and group transportation, Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hotel Galvez & Spa, a Wyndham Grand ®Hotel, is now extending its weekly ghost tour, typically reserved for guests, to the public as part of a dinner buffet package. Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 7 and continuing through Thursday, Oct, 28, guests can enjoy dinner followed by a one-hour ghost tour of the historic hotel.

When Ashley and I were planning our trip to Galveston we knew that we HAD to include a massage/spa in the weekend. The last time I stayed at the Hotel Galvez, our room overlooked part of the spa and since I had heard the spa was amazing I figured we should totally try it out.

You no longer have to go under the knife to achieve younger-looking, vibrant skin, spa owners say. Galveston County is home to scores of day spas that offer anti-aging treatments designed to reduce puffiness, minimize fine lines and smooth wrinkles — all without surgery or anaesthetic. One of the most popular treatments is called microdermabrasion, a procedure that removes dead, sun-damaged skin through light abrasion, typically achieved by spraying tiny crystals of aluminum oxide across the skin. The Spa at the Hotel Galvez is offering a new twist to this standard procedure, which reportedly achieves the same results with less abrasion.
