In celebration of the 102nd anniversary of the historic Hotel Galvez & Spa, a Wyndham Grand® Hotel, and in conjunction with one of the most popular month for weddings, couples are invited to renew their wedding vows during a June Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony. The ceremony will be officiated by Justice of the Peace Jim Schweitzer on Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m. on the hotel grounds.

Work has begun on renovations to the lobby, bar and restaurant of the Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel. The hotel’s historic bar and restaurant will be renamed the Galvez Bar & Grill and will boast a new look and menu for guests. Renovations are expected to take approximately two months.

How often should a person condition their hair? What is the benefit of Vitamin C serum for aging skin? These are some of the topics that will be covered in the “Spring Time Renewal” Skin and Hair Care seminar on Wednesday, May 1, at 6 p.m. at The Spa at Hotel Galvez, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel.

The Galveston County Museum is requesting one-of-a-kind items related to the historic Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, as well as items from Old Galveston Club to display in the hotel’s popular Hall of History. Led by expert speakers and in-house staff, these educational sessions will begin in March and scheduled at 6 p.m. at The Spa at Hotel Galvez.

Join the Hotel Galvez & Spa and the Cruising on Full Power’s designers for an “Evening of Wearable Art” on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the hotel’s Music Hall. More than 17 designers from Europe and the United States will showcase their wearable art and sell their unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that range from funky and fun clothing and jewelry to hand-painted silks, hand-woven jackets and exquisite jewelry. Admission to this event is free.

Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, has been named a top choice in two popular magazines – Texas Monthly and ConventionSouth.

This holiday season, Galveston will become the “Winter Wonder Island of Texas,” offering more than 1,000 holiday events from Nov. 10 through Dec. 31. In celebration, the historic Hotel Galvez and The Tremont House, both Wyndham Grand® Hotels, are offering a special Holiday Magic Package. Starting at $159 per night at Hotel Galvez and $149 per night at The Tremont House, the Holiday Magic package includes deluxe accommodations, a $50 food and beverage credit, and the first passport stamp toward giveaways and getaway deals. The package is available from Nov. 11 to Dec. 30.

The “haunted” Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel and National Trust Historic Hotel of America, has extended its popular “Dinner with the Ghosts” overnight package to Fridays in October. The ghost package includes a deluxe guest room, the ghost tour, dinner for two and complimentary valet parking.

Performances from The Nutcracker, handbells and Christmas carols will entertain guests at the City of Galveston’s Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration at Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, on Friday, Nov. 23. This free family event begins at 6 p.m. and marks the start of the holiday season in Galveston.
