Five Cruise Ships to Make Galveston Home PortTexas cruisers will soon celebrate the most dramatic fleet expansion ever at the Port of Galveston.
During the next 16 months, five massive ships are relocating to the island. The 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph replaced the older Carnival Ecstasy this month on four- and five-night cruises to Mexico. Royal Caribbean's 3,114-passenger Mariner of the Seas arrives Nov. 11 and the 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic debuts Nov. 14. Both Carnival vessels will operate year-round from Galveston. The Mariner of the Seas is committed for the next two winter seasons.
