Texas songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker will be gracing the stage, along with country heavy hitters Joe Ely, Jesse Dayton, Paula Nelson and Galveston locals Sam Navarro and the Lone Star Devils at "Boots on the Beach" on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 during the second weekend of Galveston’s Mardi Gras celebration.

The Cowboy Spirit, a collection of moving tintypes by internationally celebrated photographer and Texas native Robb Kendrick, will be on display at The Tremont House from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the January 19, 2013 Galveston ArtWalk.

Entertainment for the evening includes Texas’ premier western swing band, Asleep at the Wheel, American country with a rockabilly attitude by Jesse Dayton and incomparable New Orleans jazz performed by the internationally acclaimed Dr. Michael White Jazz Quartet.

Join the Hotel Galvez & Spa and the Cruising on Full Power’s designers for an “Evening of Wearable Art” on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the hotel’s Music Hall. This holiday season, Galveston will become the “Winter Wonder Island of Texas,” offering more than 1,000 holiday events from Nov. 10 through Dec. 31. In celebration, the historic Hotel Galvez and The Tremont House, both Wyndham Grand® Hotels, are offering a special Holiday Magic Package.

Starting at $159 per night at Hotel Galvez and $149 per night at The Tremont House, the Holiday Magic package includes deluxe accommodations, a $50 food and beverage credit, and the first passport stamp toward giveaways and getaway deals. The package is available from Nov. 11 to Dec. 30.

The “haunted” Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel and National Trust Historic Hotel of America, has extended its popular “Dinner with the Ghosts” overnight package to Fridays in October.
