FeatherFest 2012 Celebrates 10th AnniversaryGalveston FeatherFest, the island’s annual birding and nature photography festival, will celebrate its 10th anniversary April 12 – 15. Festival founders will be recognized at an anniversary event. The Mitchell family and staff of Mitchell Historic Properties created this annual birding festival ten years ago and funded it for the first two years. FeatherFest now offers more than 100 unique outdoor adventures amid 200 species of birds for nature enthusiasts of all skill levels. Events scheduled in downtown Galveston include photography workshops at The Tremont House and birding workshops and field trips based out of Old Galveston Square (one block from The Tremont House).
